Deruelle Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 Have a look of the ribbon bar with WMVOChristophe
Deruelle Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 A close up of the wreath Christophe
Deruelle Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 It is interresting to see that the same wreath was used for the Austrian ribbon (without enameled). For me this the first time I see such wreath on Austrian ribbonChristophe
Deruelle Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 Hi, Do you think the Wurttemberg ribbon bar is tracable ? I have found some officers in the RL 1925 who had EK2, WM3, ?M3K. But like we can't find some TR medals. May be this officer didn't survive till this date. I will give the name in the next post. Just to find one more time.RegardsChristophe
Deruelle Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 I found my paper. In RL 1925 : - Hauptmann von Graevenitz- oberleutnant von Alberti- Oberleutnant B?haimb. Thanks for your helpChristophe
Guest Rick Research Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 No, this wearer was in the civil service (long service cross), not career military. Those three were career officers and WW2 generals.
Deruelle Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 Thanks Rick for your reply. Sorry I have a "stupid question". Like it is not my speciality. The TR civil service was decerned for people who retired from army or what ? Who could receive this award ?The wearer of this bar couldn't have a command during the WW2, because we can't find WW2 awards. Maybe he died before 1939. Thanks a lot for your help.RegardsChristophe
HeikoGrusdat Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 the 3.Reich civil crosses for 25 and 40 (and 50...) years were given to all the ofiicials of the reich in civil service: post office, financial ministry, all kind of administrations........many people could get it.
Guest Rick Research Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 He could well have been a regular officer during the FIRST war, and been recalled as a zV officer in the SECOND... or been "der Reserve" in both. But that means he was most likely a Hauptmann, either way, and not in any military Rank List. Here's a Bavarian "retread" with the 25 years civil service-- a reserve officer (Hauptmann) in Pionier Bataillon 5 in his late 40s:[attachmentid=28887]He could have been a school teacher, a government employee... anything in his civilian job, called back for the war in junior rank and senior years!!!!
Deruelle Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 Many thanks for the explanations Rick. Nice photo.RegardsChristophe
