jonsey2001 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Greetings, I have a Japanese summer Tunic and pants. Pic coming soon. I am interested to know why there is only one loop on the left hand side under the arm pit a little higher than the waist above the pleat. Very interesting to me. I cannot seem to find good images. This uniform was in a USMC sea bag that is full of 782 gear etc. I missed out on the katana. Also any interest in seeing some Japanese ordinance for assistance with identifying and a flag? I will post if there is interest. Many thanks! George
jonsey2001 Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 I forgot to mention I have a signed Arisaka rifle sling this particular Marine was on Iwo and Siapan. If there interest in seeing this it is very fragile but I am willing to take a couple pics.
Rogi Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 It would be cool to take a couple pictures and post I'd definatley be interested in seeing them :)
jonsey2001 Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 OK here goes! Ordinance - Flag it is small - and the Tunic. I would really like to know what type of tunic this is. Enjoy.
Brian Wolfe Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Hi George,I too would be interested in seeing the photos. Thanks in advance.RegardsBrian
jonsey2001 Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 Now the pre war rifle, last ditch bayonet I will take pics of the sling later in the weekend. It would be fantastic to find out if the sling is unit marked or named. Bayonet is neat as well. Enjoy!
Rogi Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 In the first pic of the tunic, mostly military weapons (like the Zero) I've seen marked in this manner, not exactly sure what this might be, but I don't do a lot of uniforms Can you post a full picture of the items in the first post? :)
jonsey2001 Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 Here are full pics of the tunic. Any ideas as to type? Thanks, George
ichiban2006 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Standard tropical type 98 army field tunic. The loop is to hold the bayonet in place and hold the belt up. Edited January 12, 2014 by ichiban2006
ghp95134 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 The flag is named to Kanemura Okiue金村興植 I'm not 100% certain about the given name's pronunciation "Okiue". --Guy
