oamotme Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Looks OK to me too - demand is low, prices are low and there are enough about not to warrant faking & I've not seen a fake in 25 years of collecting. Nice to get original ribon with possibly original brooch although image is very small. Regards, Owain
Obergefreiter Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 Were these made locally, or were they minted someplace else and then shipped back to Iraq?
oamotme Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 More than likely, as with other Iraqi medals of 1960'2 and 1960's, the Victory Medal was manufactured by Huguenin of Le Locle in Switzerland. The inscription reads "The Victory 1945". Regards, Owain.
