Great Dane Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Greetings everyone, I was wondering if anybody knows which QSA bars field-marshal John French (a major-general at the time) was awarded for the Boer war? I know he had 7 bars, where 3 of them were "Elandslaagte", "Relief of Kimberley" and "Driefontein". And based on his merits in the war, I can guess that he probably had "Paardeberg", "Transvaal" and "Cape Colony" too... but it is only a guess... Does anybody know? Thanks, Michael
peter monahan Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 The last would likely be "Orange Free State", as it and "Cape Colony" were the two commonest bars issued.
