Waffen SS Unusual ? Waffen SS uniform and field cap

Hello Gentlemen,

I´ve got this nice photo. He is wearing his field cap without SS insignias and

an aquila from the Heer. His shoulder boards are LAH.

Which uniform is he wearing an assault gun uniform ?

If you take the hat as a standard grey one then the jacket could be black in colour, standard Pz man wearing non standard hat?

the scan isn´t so good the original is more contrasty and

so it could also be assault gun ?!

I know what you mean, photography is a challenge on its own.

I only have a couple of Army Assault lads to hand to compare the general cut and colour (see attached).

Probably no help since the SS cut and produced their own gear?

What about a field or private made item given the lack of collar flashes?
