Jock Auld Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Guys, Had a bit of a pot day as it goes, this tickled me. The crack in the lip is a firing flaw so I suppose this stuff was low quality mass produced for the masses. Jock:)
Jerry B Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Very nice, I have a number of British ceramic items, mostly WWI and Boer war.
Jerry B Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 One from my collection. I'll add more if there is any interest. An early piece with the date 1914 and the early war allies on one side and a floral decoration on the other, suggesting perhaps it was very quickly converted from an item allready in production.
Tony Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Yes, please add more and anyone else who has patriotic porcelain. Tony
Jerry B Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Yes, please add more and anyone else who has patriotic porcelain. Tony Glad to oblige Tony. Some more from my collection. I have a couple more pieces to add. I also have a few of Boer war date, though not sure if they belong here.
Jerry B Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 And a few more, including a very rare French example for Verdun.
Jock Auld Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Nice stuff Jerry, I remember seeing a few of the WW1 tanks not that long ago on a visit to UK and they seemed relativley inexpensive, just they were from the wrong side or I would have had a couple! Jock

Jock They are not too pricey, relative to the equivalent German items I guess. Some of them are more expensive than others, it depends on the mark of tank, the maker and the town crest upon them. Some of the other types, such as submarines, airplanes can be quite pricey, again the twon crest etc makes a difference. I used to collect to the other side, but only buy British these days, Welsh items in the main.
Tony Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I have a peace cup too and I'm quite sure I also have a plate. I put a nasty chip in my Ol Bill money box tank Tony
peter monahan Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Lovely stuff, Jock! Thanks very much for sharing them.
