Unable to find Imperial Service Medal

Hi there,

I'm having problems trying to find James Francis George who was awarded a George V1 Imperial Service Medal. I have tried the London Gazette (they have recently updated their site) but can't find it.

I would be most grateful for some assistance!

I don't know whether this works with the new site or not, but my trick has been to Google the name and Gazette. It has usually worked where the old Gazette search facility didn't.

The Gazette's own search engine was notoriously cranky and the new one seems worse. I'll adopt Micheal's trick, I think, in future.

Re the New Gazette set up I reprint this from another forum, I hope you find this helpful

The Advance Search is still there... but instead of having to put different search terms in different boxes (as in the old Advance Search page), one now uses the single "search box" provided... but employ the standard Boolean search terms: AND; NOT; " "; etc.

For anyone who regularly uses it, I would suggest it's worthwhile spending the 2 min 44 sec required to watch their video explaining the new set-up.
