Chris Boonzaier Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Hi, what would the correct piping for Vets be? I have seen shoulder boards with Violet, with green and with red underlays... which is correct? :-( Would being attached to a Artillery regiment make a difference? Thanks Chris
Glenn J Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Chris, Crimson. Regimental affiliation had no bearing. Regards Glenn
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 Hi Glenn, thanks, how far removed is that from the artillery red? Sometimes the differences are so subtle I cannot see them :-( Best Chris

Chris Boonzaier Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Hi, does anyone have any information on the collar badges/Patcvhes? Would they have been Crimson Rectangels? Thanks Chris
Chip Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Chris, The Kragenpatten for the M10 officer's tunics were black with karmesinrot (carmine) piping. For the M15 officer's Bluse they remained the same only with the addition of matt gray double Litzen with gilt wire center stripe on each Litze ending in a vertical gilt wire stripe (see photo). Karmesinrot is a purplish to pinkish red. I think of crimson as a sort of medium red, somewhere between ponceaurot/hochrot and blood red. Here is an example of the officer's Kragenpatten for the Bluse. Edited May 18, 2014 by Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 hI; If an officer had a M10 tailored in 1915-16, yould he have had the M15 tabs on it? or would he have stuck withthe M10? Or was it a matter of preference, or what the tailor had? Thanks Chris
