Austria-Hungary Edelweiss Division silver Bravery Medal

Hi,

I know absolutely nothing about these... so maybe someone can talk me through it?

I bought it ages ago because of the "Edelweiss" Division....

Is the Silver medal I Kl. something good?

Hi,

before I finally file this away...

From the dates top right, I assume he was born 1893, and joined in 1914

Dae bottom left, the award was made on the 24 11 1917

He was 3rd Kaiserjäger regt

Can anyone hazard a guess as to his rank?

And although the 3rd Kaiserjäger were part of the 8th Infantry division, renamed kaiserjäger Division, they were (According to wikipedia) fighting very closely with the 3rd (edelweiss) division at the end of 1917, which would explain why the award was made by the edelweiss division

His rank was "Landsturm-Jäger" which would be a private.

In November 1917 the 3rd Kaiserjäger-Regiment was part of the Edelweiß-Division.
