Picked this awhile back I love caps like this I can bury me eyeballs into the material and the threads used, please don't call it 'salty' its insulting imo and I'll hate ya!

I've a couple of 'minty' but like these the purists overlook them, pity and prices tend to be low for youngsters starting out before insanity takes over.

Eric,

Based on outward appearance, I would call this a Bavarian Einheitsmütze. One of the ink stamps seems to be for the same unit as the Etikett (Prussian "A.R.3"). Just another example of the kind of inexplicable thing that happens in wartime.
