Prior to the full institution off the Kriegsmariine and the repudiation of the Treaty of Versailles......The German Nation had ONLY, 10,000 - or - So Navy members allowed to Run-the-navy, Police-the-coast and Police the Rivers Man-the-existing ship and "Do all of the other NAVY duties and things" under the Versailles Treaty. The S.A. had over 3 Million Men in the organization and what better way to utilize those SA Member from the Reichsmarine and the Old Kaiserlich Marine and the Handelsmarine thanto form theminto a SA Unit ( Also an NSKK Marine and Motorboat unit. There is very-Little-written on this, as of yet. Photos to come later
