jonsey2001 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Greetings, I had picked up a Mass National Guard Officers tunic, these were in the pocket. I haven't managed to find anything online. I searched ROTC as well. Thanks in advance! George
Paul R Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 I have never seen anything like it. Those are the WW2 era ribbon types too... Did they have ROTC ribbons back then?
IrishGunner Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 I would say they are state National Guard ribbons. Each state's National Guard has its own series of awards that mirror the federal Army. Based upon a cursory Google search, I believe that these are Massachusetts National Guard State Guard Service Ribbons. In my opinion, your ribbons have "yellowed" white stripes due to age. Stars added for "additional years of service" perhaps. I can't find anything specific about the ribbon, but the color scheme certainly seems to fit with other MASS National Guard ribbons. Perhaps an email to the National Guard Association of Massachusetts could confirm or deny.
Ulsterman Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Yup. That's what these are. I find these all the time.
jonsey2001 Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 Ok makes sense to me. I will look closely at the center stripes later on. Thank you all.
jonsey2001 Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 The lighting in my office is not that good...The center strips looked blue to me. Thank you again!
