JapanX Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Same piece. But red enamel looks differently every time because of the different lighting. "Metallic shiny" ... Yea, right http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_12_2014/post-6141-0-98675100-1418300261.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_12_2014/post-6141-0-95365000-1418300271.jpg
JapanX Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) And here we have flashlight situation http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_12_2014/post-6141-0-10674800-1418300330.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_12_2014/post-6141-0-49373100-1418300321.jpg and nothing more. Edited December 11, 2014 by JapanX
JapanX Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) The cloisonné should be the exactly same quality, thick, dark when no lights are aimed at it and with no metallic shine like the 6th mini and the previously offered fake breast star. Actually it could have very different looks Edited December 11, 2014 by JapanX
RAINBOW CHOCOLATE Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 Post 27, left one is not mint made and right one is mint made. Last one posted (post 29), not mint made - that is my only point, the mint uses the same very dark center. Compare to previously listed fake breast star, it is not hard to tell. Just think collectors should know the difference.
JapanX Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Just think collectors should know the difference. They certainly should
fukuoka Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 As a final note, I have to respectfully disagree with RAINBOW's conclusion. These are all Japanese Mint made.
Dieter3 Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 This is a fascinating thread. I do wonder though, why would anybody go to the length of making a fake a lower class order - I think unofficial copy would probably be better. As Rich pointed out, they are expensive - so it makes sense a shop might make these and somebody would be able to pick one up for a lot less money? Though I must ask, is this even LEGAL in Japan? I can't comment on the pieces - I know nothing of miniatures, but interesting to read the commentary back and forth.
