I suppose beards are in fashion - and I see his badges of rank are the five stars in a circle. I always thought that was the US insignia , but I expect it has been taken-up by other Countries. Only a pity that the king doesn't wear the collar of the order of the Golden Fleece, but some kind of miniature version.
