Chris Boonzaier Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Some time ago I realised that i had a bunch of identified WW1 EK1s.... These were either in complete groups, or ebay sellers who were selling their relatives medals... I have started displaying them with enlarged Photos of the winner.... Fits nicely in a Binder.... This cavalry officer lost an Arm, served in a POW camp in WW2 and commited suicide after the war....
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 This Saxon Jäger officer was difficult to pin down, but nailed thanks to the research gnomes on the forum......
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Part of a Garde Infanterie NCO group....
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 In this case no Photo of the man, but he was in a Pionier Unit in the Argonne forest, so the Argonne Pionier Song is a good mounting board....
Brian Wolfe Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Very good idea Chris. Thanks for sharing this with the members, perhaps other will follow suit. Regards Brian
Tony Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Nice! I like that. I can pin down two of mine and have a photo on one of them being worn by the recipient, the third has a common name on it so although I was pointed in the general direction by the seller, it might just have been a story.
Brian R Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Awesome. There's not much better than attributed EKs.
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 Forgot I had this group to an NCO in the 36th Füsiliers... in the 2nd photo he is the one to the right of the EK2
Brian R Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 That picture on the right is priceless. Very nice display!
