Douglas2496 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Hi everyone, I am keen to i.d. this water bottle in my collection. It is aluminium and unmarked. The cloth cover was originally mid grey but now faded to a patchy brown. The cover is stitched up at the side and not removable. Does anyone know what it is? German? Any help appreciated. Doug
Hoss Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 HelloI've not seen that bottle before, strange one the body suggests German but the neck and stopper doesn't it maybe commercial but I'm guessing. I've found all military Imperial German bottles are marked even if they are not dated.Eric
Chip Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 It doesn't look like any German issue canteen that I have seen. The sewn-on cover is not typical either. Unfortunately, I don't know what it is.Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Hoss dropped the word commercial, i think that maay be the key... Outdoor wandervogel like groups for youth were comman in the interwar years... I am guessing there were a number of commercial producers
