    Hello,

Does anyone know anything about this Italian WW1 commemorative medal?

More specifically: Was it issued with a diploma? Why is it issued in bronze and silver? How many were attributed? Do miniatures exist? Who designed it? etc.

    Thank you in advance.

    Jean-Sam

This unofficial medal comes for the Swiss canton of Vaud. Not being an Italian official medal there should not be any miniature, neither diploma nor any list of percipients. Usually in these circumstances they were bought by the interested persons, choosing bronze or silver simply depending on the price.

I guess that the name of the designer/farm should be on the front size, more or less at hour 7-8. I can't read the on the pictures, anyway

Thank you Claudio for your comments.

You are right about the medalist: it is actually the Swiss company HUGUENIN, in Le locle, Switzerland.

    Al the best.

    Jean-Sam.

A curious and very fine medal anyways.

I also remember that the Canton of Ticino awarded a diploma for the resident italians, wounded in WW1.

Have you by any chance a copy of this diploma and a photo of the related medal?
