dante Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Although he is noted as just Erdmann, his personnel file has his as Erdmann-Degenhardt taking his mothers maiden-name, serving in WW1 (Need some help with his WW1 units)And in the 1920s with the Landspolizei KonigsbergIn 1944 he went into the Fuhrer Reserve but (and this needs to be confirmed) he took command from February 1945 to April 1945 Volks-Grenadier –Regiment 1143 (noted as Kampfgruppe Erdmann-Degenhardt and Volks-Grenadier –Regiment Erdmann-Degenhardt) Volks-Grenadier –Division 561 destroyed at KonigsbergWelcome your thoughts
hucks216 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 (edited) As you know, an Ehrenblattspange was won by a Hauptmann Weiss while serving with that battle group in 1945 so it would seem that he was assigned a front line command in the last days of the TR. He is listed in the 1943 & 1944 DAL as an Oberst. He is the only one listed with the surname of Erdmann-Degenhardt. Edited July 13, 2015 by hucks216
