Jason Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Just arrived tonight from Bob in California, a lovely little 3 place Hessian bar. The General Decoration is the "Fur Kriegsverdienst" version.Another bar without an EK2 - I love 'em!!cheersJason
Stogieman Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Nice bar! We see the Kriegshilfdienst medal on hessian ribbon bars often..... quite a bit harder to actually find one hanging off the medal bar!! Excellent choice!
Guest Rick Research Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Although one might suppose that the "war merit" reverse General Decoration medals are quite common, from Official Price Guides...I don't think I'd run out of fingers and toes counting how many I've ever seen, as opposed to the "F?r Tapferkeit" reverse type.
Stogieman Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I don't think folks realize the rarity of the variations on this medal.... I have this one now, reverse "F?r Treue Dienst"
Jason Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 I saw that medal bar in your sale Rick, i was sorely tempted, but my binding 50% rule (and a clip over the ear from my girlfriend) came into force and stopped me unfortunately! Still, a beautiful bar!cheersJason
Stogieman Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 What the heck is a 50% rule?? The clip in the head I understand completely!
Jason Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 The 50% rule I have for medal bars means if a group has 50% (or more) medals I don't have already mounted then its a serious proposition! I'm pretty flexible when it comes to Hindenburg Crosses though. It may seem a little weird, and I've probably missed a lot of nice groups, but half the fun for me is the search for something different, like this group! cheers Jason
