demir Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) Hello,After the foundation of the Turkish Aeroplane Assc. in 1925 this medal was established for those who contributed money to buy new planes. A) Those who gave 30 TL cash or 50 Liras in a year : bronz B: 75 TL or 100 in a year: Silver, C: 200TL cash or 250 liras in a year in installments: Gold and finally D: 2500 cash or 3000 TL in a year: Murassa (medal decorated with diamonds)The plane on the medal represents the plane (model: Vecihi K-6) produced by Vecihi Hürkuş in 1924.First one shown below is the photo of a murassa medal given to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the first woman aviator in Turkey Sabiha Gökçen.The second one is the silver Turkish Tayyare Cemiyeti Madalyası (Ertuğrul Kasacı Collection) and its original box.Best wishes Demir Edited August 31, 2015 by demir
