Adler 1 Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Yes it is an interesting read, only because of the old German text it takes days to decipher everything ...The search continues! Adler 1
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I am no expert on Camo helmets, but am I wrong in thinking that the actul colors here are a bit out of the ordinary?
Adler 1 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 The colors are in real a little less bright. I took the pictures inside with artificial lighting. As you can see the colors of both helmets are almost identical and I see that also as an indication they are original. The colors used are often used, not the most comon maybe, but I've seen them on other helmets before... Chris Boonzaier Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Hi, that is what I mean, they are not the most common shades used, so taking that into account, plus the fact that both have red stripes, I have no problem believing they are from the same unit.
Hoss Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 How do you draw that camo conclusion? DB helmet is painted in a more common style the pigments varied especially ochre. Karel's displays a further period colored panel. Well, they don't match to me whatever above everything is this red stripe, Karel, you may have to live with the fact 'unknown'. Is there a chance we could see a macro of the red band area and a close up of the DB rim markings?Eric
Adler 1 Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 I think "unknown" is indeed the best to accept for now...Eric, if you click on the picture, it magnifies already a little bit, maybe that's sufficient for you? Adler 1
