Rittmeister Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Good evening everybody, Could somebody help identify around what year this photo could be taken? Could it be 1928? The soldier on the right has two stripes on his sleeve, what is that? The soldier on the left, could this be the company sergeant major? He has a large ribbon bar but has something on his sleeve that I don't recognise. Thanks in advance for the help!
Stuka f Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Any chance to have a better pic? The guy on the left (probably a officer!) might wear the 1928 model uniform, but all others have the 1915 uniform. It is defenetly post WWI. The stripes on the arm of the soldier on the right means he has over 8 years of service. cheers |<ris
g_deploige Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Te one on the left is an NCO rank adjudant, the insignia under the frontstrips is the sign of head instructor (2 palms), the one at the richt is an NCO rank sergeant, the 2 strips are stripes of long service, 1=4 year service, they maximum can wear 2 stripes, after 10 year servic the recieve the military decoration and are no longer alowed to wear the stripes for long service
Rittmeister Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 Thanks for the interesting replies! Much obliged! Alas no bigger scan possible, this a huge enlargement from a small group photo. One more question: is that a Vuurkoord that the Adjudant is wearing? And how do I recognise a Sergeant? His uniform looks no different from the recruits....
g_deploige Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Yes it is a "vuurkoord" the rank is under on the sleeve
