Igor Ostapenko Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 This cross Manufactured in France or in Austaria ? Thank You !!!
paja Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 In my opinion French, anyway a great piece! Damaged enamel adds some character to the order
Igor Ostapenko Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 Thank You ! I think about Scheid - see the shield and number 4 in date
paja Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) I'd still put my money on Bertrand. Here's a comparison, Bertrand is on the left, Scheid is on the right. Bertrand found HERE. Scheid found HERE. Edited January 24, 2017 by paja
Igor Ostapenko Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 If Barry say " Bertrand " it's not 100% Bertrand
paja Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) Let's say typical Bertrand pieces look just like that one on emedals and typical Scheid pieces look like the other one from my previous posts. I've seen that Scheid's order in Car/Muhić book and to honest that's a bit of a puzzle to me. It looks just like Bertrand made order and even the authors state so. If I'm not mistaken there's a hallmark on its suspension ring, perhaps that's how they determined the producer. Anyway that particular example is very unusual for Scheid. One more thing, generally speaking Scheid's pieces are hallmarked while Bertrand's aren't. Edited January 26, 2017 by paja
Daffy Duck Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Any ideas of this particular piece? It looks like AB (appearance and dimensions) but there are fee issues (e.g. crown enamel on both sides, strange color pattern, and wrong ring piece on reverse side) The rest of the order looks ok, but I am not 100% sure. I don't have better pictures, but seems to be hallmark under the crown, which should be the French mark for silver.
