Ed_Haynes Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Still unclear why Japanese awards are viewed as "Axis" rather than "International"? Not everything is WWII. Should these Japanese threads not be moved??
Laurence Strong Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 Hi Ed, sorry about that, it was midnight last night and I needed to scan the 7th class as it came in yesterday, but was tired and went to bed. All by it's self it would have had zilch to do with WW2, but the next 2 do.7th class case cover
Laurence Strong Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 The case has a little damage to it, I had to white glue the front top and right side (as you look at the scan), it's hard to see where it was broken.Medal, obverse and reverse with the full image on the reverse
Laurence Strong Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 My last one at this momment is the 6th class. The case, this is almost double the size of the other 2 cases.
Laurence Strong Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 (edited) 6th class medal front and rearThanks Ed Edited April 1, 2006 by Laurence Strong
Ed_Haynes Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I do admit to having a problem with these -- I can't decide which is nicer, the medals or their cases!
Laurence Strong Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 (edited) Yes They must have put alot of time and energy in making the laqured cases, considering that you would think it was disposable, though from the way I have seen for mounting them it seems a temporary thing on the bar, but I find that it adds something to the set. kunsho Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 A 5th class in the "exotic" box for foreigners or members of the diplomatic service...There are also two different types of these "cord tazzle" boxes existing. One is illustrated like the shown one with paulownia decoration all over the exterior and the usual inscription is on the inner surface, the other one has only the inscription on the exterior, without paulownia decoration (with only one single paulownia on the top of the inscription).
