nickstrenk Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 (edited) This order was established in 6.6.1947.It was made from bronze,no suspension for wearing on the reverse of the ribbon.A nice wooden case-dimension 19cmx11,5cm.Weight 17 gr..dia-33,3 cm.About 150 ordes of the first type were awarded. In my opinion it is the ugliest award in the world. It is my opinion.I do not know why designs and quality of awards of North Vietnam is so low.I hope when Ed Emering visits the GMIC after reading the topic he will give some explanation. They are not from presious metal:gold,silver,...and their design is so simple. The photos of order are from my collection. Edited March 28, 2017 by nickstrenk some more information
nickstrenk Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 The case is from balsa wood. All Japanese award are situated to the cases -etuis from balsa wood. Also the first Czechoslovak order-Štefaniks Order,or Order of Falcon was in put into wooden etue -Tokio version 1918. Imagine the situation -you award somebody with the Chain of White Lion and you are given such an order or similar.A lot of similar situations are familiar with me.
