This German photo shows a bunch of young men, all dressed for the occasion, but apart from (paper) flowers they are also sporting some kind of small decorations. These remind me of the lapel badges worn by boys after passing the conscript tests for the Forces. So, what do we see here? Are they conscripts, a team of champion footballers, fun fair shooters, or what?

Even with my best spy glass I cannot make out the text on the badges, but perhaps some of the specialists can be of help here?

Footballers ? perhaps ,are eleven .shooters ? used to wear uniforms or at least badges and chains . other alternative is a Turnverein or gymnastic association . the man with rollneck pullover in these case is the Turnvater or Proffesor .

Those "badges" appear to be the type worn by recruits when they depart for their initial training. The badges often have the name of the branch they are reporting to, such as "Infanterie", "Artillerie" and so forth.
