Guest Darrell Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Got these in the mail today as well. Thanks to Gerd (again ). Although these are the lowly 1985 Jubilee versions, they look pretty darn sharp in this mint condition.1. OPW 1st Class Obverse. Pardon the flash that blurs the center writing. These things are really hard to photograph.
Guest Darrell Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Here's a scan that Gerd did. Shows the detail a little better:
Guest Darrell Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Here's the Award Booklet. I hope Rick or someone can help me translate the name this one was awarded to
Guest Darrell Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Inside the booklet that shows the name of the recipient.
Guest Darrell Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 As a bonus, the award notification was included as well
Guest Darrell Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Oops forgot another terrible pic from me of the reverse:
Guest Darrell Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 2. OPW 2nd Class Obverse (the silver doesnt show as well as this one is in hand ):
Guest Darrell Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Inside Award Booklet. Hope to get some help on this guy's name as well
Guest Rick Research Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 The "congrats" letter from Kostyukovichsky Local Veterans Commissariat is a PRIZE, since that is all that indicates WHERE he lived. The center line of that rubber stamp will have the CITY the local was in, but I can't make it out.OPW1 above was to Nikiforov, Petr Petrovich.and the OPW2 was to Karpov, Leonid Ivanovich.
