medalnet
Maybe something completely new. I don't collect them, but am always intrigued by the craftsmanship. Those "order" decorations of those monasteries. Mostly the abbess would wear a decoration and maybe one other. Needless to say that those decorations are extremly rare.[attachmentid=33137]This is an example of the monastery in Visbec[attachmentid=33138]

medalnet
I believe most of them were made durng the late 18th and early 19th century. This one looks to me like 1820-1830th. Interesting is the needle devise for easier wearing. They new that the piece had to be handed on from abbess to abbes over time.
Great Dane
I can add one from my own collection:The embroidered star from the Danish Vall? Monastery (virgins of noble heritage only ). The decoration was instituted in 1783./Mike
