order_of_victory Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I have just found this on ebay, and I currently own one, but have never seen another till today . (I know another on of my strange possibly faked medal threads) I was wondering if any one had any information on this medal Order of Victory
order_of_victory Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 Does no body know what variation this, Preserving Public Order RFSR edition. This medal is not featured in any of the guides?
Guest Rick Research Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 The scans are typical HORRIBLE eCrap, so Lord knows from THOSE...but isn't that the crest of White Russia?Or is this a fantasy item? No idea, me.
order_of_victory Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 According to my book Crests and Flags of the Soviet Union, the crest is from 1917 - 1940 and was the crest of RSFSR, but could be wrong due to my lack Russian.I will try and get a picture of my own posted, but i ussually struggle to resize them
HuliganRS Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Most transitional medals are faked. This one comes from a seller that is known to sell fakes.Although, I find it funny how he's selling this huge collection from the "last" OMSA convention for the last 2 years...Here's my transitional medal:Here's the later Russian Federation medal:Rusty.
HuliganRS Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 You can see my whole Russian Federation and transitional medals on the OMSA Medal Database page here.Rusty.P.S. These will most likely be sold due to my recent house purchase...
order_of_victory Posted April 7, 2006 Author Posted April 7, 2006 Thanks for shedding some light on the Medal.Mine came from a large collection of Soviet Medals that I bought off getleman, who picked them up in Georgia and NY dealers in the early 1990's, so I think mine may be genuine.Order of Victory
HuliganRS Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 (edited) Show some pics!If you got them that early, you should have some low S/N's!Rusty. Edited April 7, 2006 by HuliganRS
