Montenegrin "Gold" Medal for Bravery

Gentlemen,

The Montenegrin Silver Medal for Bravery is well known.  It was not made in Gold.  However, here is a picture of one that does appear to be made of Gold.  Is there a possibility that a Gold Medal for Bravery would be made and awarded?  Does anyone have any info a Montenegrin Gold Medal for Bravery?

I believe I posted the same medal HERE  because I was wondering the same thing. The medal seems authentic, so perhaps some kind of a mix-up at the factory?

Thanks for the quick response.  i appreciate your comment that the medal seems to be authentic.  It looks authentic to me as well.  Looks as though It will remain a mystery.

Don't mention it, Gordon. Unfortunately we can only guess why was the medal gilded.

Medal looks legit, but it shouldn't exist.

As it appears to be from WWI period, what only comes to my mind is that was done during the exile of king Nikola of Montenegro. He could have ordered those instead of gold Obilic one, if manufacturer didn't have a possibility to produce Obilic's.

Or maybe if a recipient lost his Obilic one and found only a producer which had a production of silver ones.

Of course, it's a guessing.

Medal instituted in 1841, trial piece from WW1 period? 

Jovićević wrote that king Nikola had an idea of passing the new law on decorations and because of that Bravery Medals were rarely awarded during Balkan Wars and WW1. But then again the new law was never introduced.
