pluribus Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 Does anybody know who and how many persons got this medal?
JapanX Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 (edited) Does anybody know who and how many persons got this medal? According to the statute this medal was awarded to those who were invited to Enthronement or performed official duties during Enthronement. Also prime minister office could award anybody at its own discretion. The exact number is not known (as per today), but at least 16 000 were issued. Quite likely the total number is much higher . It`s not very rare. It was made by japan mint. You will find its marks at the rim. Edited April 23, 2018 by JapanX

I found that the medal stands on 4 of 5 on scarcity scale on this site http://www.imperialjapanmedalsandbadges.com/manenthronment.html
JapanX Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 Nonsence For example https://www.jauce.com/auction/h302260891 http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/e264365160?lang=chs https://www.jauce.com/auction/k302696760 https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/o223156168?lang=chs Etc, etc, etc... It certainly doesn't look that rare.
pluribus Posted April 23, 2018 Author Posted April 23, 2018 Anyway, 200-300 euros is quite a high price.
JapanX Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 (edited) "Quite a high price" for a what? That is the question. For a medal that has 4 of 5 on scarcity scale? Rare manchukou medals gonna cost you thousands. By the way, what makes you think that a "fair price" for this "rarity" is 200 euros or even 300? Without the box it will be more like 200 dollars or less. For example this set of medals was sold for 300 dollars. Edited April 24, 2018 by JapanX
JapanX Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 (edited) And this medal without ribbon was sold for190 dollars (actually pretty high price for a medal in such condition). So, as mentioned previously, this medal not realy that rare and its not really that pricey, Edited April 23, 2018 by JapanX
pluribus Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 I understand what you mean. For me 200-300 usd is a fine value for a medal. BTW I found it sold without box on one of the auctions for 600 usd. I bought it for 15 euro.
JapanX Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) I bought it for 15 euro. Now that`s a darn rare and sweet price for this medal. BTW I found it sold without box on one of the auctions for 600 usd. Quos Deus perdere vult dementat prius Edited April 24, 2018 by JapanX
