Leuchtturm Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Hi gents, here is another medal from my collection . Its marked with: 21517 PTE. F. BUFFHAM . LINC. R. Many thanks and best wishes Chris
coldstream Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 A nice Victory Medal and would be nice to find his accompanying War Medal. Unfortunately Private Frank Buffham is shown as Killed in Action 7th July 1917 aged 25 whilst serving with the 1st Battalion in France and Flanders. His Service record does survive as part of the burnt records and can be accessed on Ancestry although a fair amount of his record is unreadable. https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/306445/buffham,-frank/ Simon.

Tony Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Chris, UK Ancestry is having one of its free weekends (today till Monday) if you fancy looking up the war diaries or anything else about the men behind your Brit Victory Medals.
