What do we know about the recipient / shown officer? -Oberleutnant (1st Lt.) -Bavarian His bar shows: -IC, bavarian MVK 3rd class with X and crown, Hindycross and 2 Wehrmacht LSM. (4 & 12 years) So the pic must have been taken in 1936 - 39 (no war merit medals like IC or WMC) In WW1 he served as an NCO (Unteroffizier/Vizefeldwebel) In his button it seems that he´s wearing a blood order for the photography - ( because of the ribbon definitely no bavarian bravery medal.)
