BEM Gazette entry

I am try to find the entry for a BEM awarded to Frederick James Cullen but can't seem to locate. He also served in the DLI, RE during WW1

 

if anyone can assist would be much appreciated

Could he have emigrated to New Zealand. London Gazette 1/1/70. Nelson, for services to the community, especially visits to mental hospials.

Would have been in his 70s then.

It seems I have his name wrong it is Challen not Cullen

 

I have managed to locate his service records, full name is Frederick Charles Challen. his MIC stated his second name starting with a J but should have been a C, hope that helps

Frederick James Challen was awarded the B.E.M. Lg 1.1.1948, as Foreman, North West Railway, Lahore.

Hi

just wanted to share a little more about Challan.

He was born in  Jabalpur. India around 1895 and was a boiler maker before joing the army

he joined the army 18.07.1916 in India

prior to joining he also served in the East India Vol Rifles, Mussoorie Vol Rifles
