Drugo
Dear all, on behalf of an Italian friend, I would like to ask your help in understanding the reason why this miniature of the St. Sava order that he recently found has a wrong date on the reverse, i.e. 1882 instead of 1883. Have you seen this before and do you know the reason why? Many thanks! Drugo Edited March 21, 2019 by Drugo

Great Dane
Based on (I'm genuinely curious)? In most countries (assuming it was the same in Serbia) miniatures are non-official privately made decorations. So if the above is a fake to deceive collectors, why not just make it with the right year?
Alpha Draconis
Most probably, the jeweler had to made booth st Sava and White eagle miniature, and made a mistake by writing a White eagle year instead of st Sava.... but we'll never know for sure?♂️ Best regards
Drugo
Thank you all! The idea that the date might had been mixed with that of a white eagle already came up on another forum, and at this point I think it's the most plausible one.
Alpha Draconis
??? In that case all you need is to find a White eagle mini with numbers 1883, and you'll have a matching minies!? Joke aside, those mistakes are quite rare, thus I like these medals even better✌
Drugo
Thank you, Alpha Draconis. Indeed, it's a bit of an oddity , and as all true collectioners, we love oddities.
