Eric Stahlhut Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 (edited) i haven't been finding much of anything as of late, but i recently picked this up for $8. last issue before fire dept. awards were nationalized in 1936. magnetic. a link with info: http://www.feuerwehr-orden.de/rubriken/historisch/11005.html the team at weitze: https://www.weitze.net/militaria/05/III_Reich_Thueringer_Feuerwehr_Verband_Feuerwehr_Ehrenzeichen_1935__288905.html Edited June 15, 2019 by Eric Stahlhut
Matthew Macleod Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 Wonderful and uncommon piece. Thanks for sharing!
Eric Stahlhut Posted October 3, 2020 Author Posted October 3, 2020 once again the thuringer feuerwehr-verband medal gods have smiled upon me--this one cost $7 it's the 2. form (1925-34) for 33 years of service, it's unmarked for maker and is a 40mm piece of silver. since the ribbons for both forms are the same--can anyone dfinitely confirm that-- i'd like to eventually obtain two short lengths to place behind each one
Scowen Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Hi Eric, A very nice piece, especially for $7. Yes I can confirm that the ribbons were the same for both of the above awards. Here is one of my Thüringer medals with ribbon Cheers Don
Eric Stahlhut Posted October 15, 2020 Author Posted October 15, 2020 hiya, don thanks very much for the confirmation---just wanted to make extra sure, as the ribbon bits will probably end up costing more than the medals, lol thanks again!
