taylorcoates Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 I've come across this pointed medal/badge/pin and I'm unsure as to where it's from or what it is. I've googled the inscription at the top as well as the colors (green, white and red) and I've come up empty handed. I've looked at medals from Lebanon and some have that similar shape, but I haven't found the exact same medal/pin/badge online. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!
Taz Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Hi there, I'm quite sure that this belongs to one of the former Soviet Bloc countries (or at least was mentioned on the soviet awards forum) but i can't remember which one it was. We are talking about ten years ago now, comes in 1st and 2nd class. Maybe that is a start for you. Regards Eddie
Dave Danner Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Google tells me it was manufactured in Lithuania for Chechnya, but whatever badges were made were seized by Russian officials while being sent to Chechnya and disposed of, so never actually issued by the Chechens.
Taz Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 (edited) Thats the one ? Order of Schamil, was to be issued by the Chechenian Republic of Ichkeria in 2 classes. Below is the 1st class version http://soviet-awards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3198 Regards Eddie Edited September 23, 2019 by Taz
