Hi, these were on a M16 Bluse in Bavaria... maybe post ww1 additions but definitely worn for a purpose.... there were some metal devices which are now no longer there and I cannot say what they were... you can see the holes in the tabs where they were to be found....

Any ideas?

  I recall I did the same on hot days at Old Fort York back in 1973-74 - wool uniforms, and at 90F they would let you take your backpack off. Michael
