numis Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 I have a bronze table medal 37mm by Bove. Obv.: bust of Gen Dufour C-i-C Swiss Army Rev : inscription in French : The People of Switzerland to the Federal Army N ov.1847 . I have been advised that this was for the defeat of the Sonderbund Can anyone provide any more information about this medal? Was it given to all in the Army or just part ? How many might have been issued ?
pat66 Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 Hello from France, in S.S.P (swiss society of phaleristique) 1998 n°64. j can read rapidly 2.300 + 100 medals by A. BOVY but just for Geneve volontary men. that's just a first idea and scuse my english. the best for all.
numis Posted March 6, 2021 Author Posted March 6, 2021 Thank you Pat 66.Much appreciated Could you possibly expand on the figures quoted. Are you saying that 2400 in total were issued or just 100?
pat66 Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 hello from France, j read exactly 2.400 medals for the total product in the S.S.P. réference. regards.
numis Posted March 10, 2021 Author Posted March 10, 2021 Thank you for the clarification pat66 It would seem that this is a fairly scarce medal
