Ranglisten have been partially shut down (13.9.2021)

For years I have been thankful that many Ranglisten were open to the public. On 13 September 2021 HathiTrust has locked many of their documents, the Ranglisten of the Prussian Army from 1896 to 1914 (https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/000495263) are no longer available. Same with the Kaiserliche Marine, on Sunday everything worked well, now the most (https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/008373258) are locked.

I take everything back, within the last two hours HathiTrust has unlocked them all! Maybe my e-mail helped, but I doubt it.

Hello Deutschritter.
the rankings from 1896-1914 are at HathiTrust only in the USA public domain.
This effect occurs if HathiTrust is accessed with a European IP address. The ranking lists can only be used to a limited extent. You can get around this with VPN. e.g. with Opera browser

Yes, you are right, and of course I use an US IP, therefore I was so shocked, that the Ranglisten 1896 and earlier were locked, but it has been cleared up. Maybe they were just doing some internal assessments and/or adjustments ... oh well, who knows, I'm just glad, this source has not "dried up". How content those must be, who have their own lists at home in their personal library.
