gibello Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 (edited) Greetings, I would like to hear your opinions on these two pieces. Thank you!! 5Th Class 4th CLASS Edited September 20, 2021 by gibello
JapanX Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 5th class is original Meiji piece. Case and ribbon both match the badge. 4th class is also Meiji era piece. The enamel is "sick" https://asiamedals.info/threads/when-japanese-orders-are-getting-sick.12614/ Also the upper part of the sword is bent. Somebody turned over the ribbon (so it looks newer). The rosette was added to the ribbon much later. Same goes for the wrong case in which this piece was sold. Best, Nick 1
PREM Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 (edited) Hello, as far as I know, the rosette was added to the 4th class of the order only from 1937, i.e. in the Showa era. So this one was added probably later, since it is the fourth class from the Meji era? Edited September 21, 2021 by PREM
