TobyR Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Hi Everyone,Thought this might be of interest to members of this forum: an LDO case for the EK1, with ink stamp, L/58.What makes this interesting though, is the paper label to the underside of the case for "Dresden", thereby associating the L/58 mark with Glaser and not in this 'case' (what a pun!) Souval.I should mention that my photo of the L/58 mark isn't the best. The "8" of the mark is a little hard to discern in life and could even be a "3". However, the "Dresden" label, firmly establishes (IMHO) that it can only be L/58. So, anyone have a non-Souval L/58?Best,Toby.

TobyR Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 And the key to it all, the underside of the case showing the "Dresden" label;
Laurence Strong Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Could that be the address of the case maker? I am sure Souval and the rest ordered thier cases from someone!
Gordon Williamson Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Toby,The presence of a label with a simple place name "Dresden", as opposed to an actual maker name, on an LDO retail sales piece does not necessarily have any bearing on the maker of the award, but could quite easily refer to the location of the retailer. Whilst this is interesting, I think we are a long, long way from being able to definitively link it to Glaser or any specific maker/retailer based in Dresden.
TobyR Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 Hi Gordon,Thanks for replying. I must confess, in my excitement of establishing a link to Glaser, I had overlooked that it could be the retailer's location.However, there may still be hope, for there would seem to have been something written above Dresden in the remaining space of the label. Alas, thus far, I have been unable to make anything of this.Best,Toby.
