ArHo Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 (edited) Hallo to all, I have to admit that I am stuck with the identification of this gentleman. The CDV picture was taken in Coblenz or Ems, I would guess around 1875 or little later. I add a picture of the photographers mark on the back. Sadly the quality is not too brilliant, but I think that he wears a Pour le Mérite around the neck, on the lower breast a barely visible Ek1 1870 and on the bar, from left to right: EK2 1870, Hausorden Hohenzollern + Schwerter, Roter Adler Orden +bow? , ???, Kronen Orden + Schwerter, - the rest I am not sure about but looks like they are mostly campaign medals, at least for 1866 and 1870-71. I would be very grateful for any help regarding his identification! Cheers Edited January 22, 2022 by ArHo
Glenn J Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Morning, the then Generalmajor Otto von Strubberg, commanding 30. Infanterie-Brigade in Coblenz around 1871. Regards Glenn 1
ArHo Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 Hallo @Glenn J and thank you so much for this identification! Cheers!
saschaw Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 It's interesting to see him wear "pure Prussian" on one and his full entitlement on the other photo!
