kaguyahime Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 (edited) Hello, jentlemen! Here is a not incurious buckle. On the averse we can see some theme of Tsushima battle and wellknown words of Admiral Togo, the date "October 1934" and Mint's mark (slightly seen). On the reversе - Togo' contour (think so) plus some "remains" of kanji above. What is the idea? Why only contour on the reverse and no more details of Admiral's portrait at all? May be, because 1934 is the year when Togo passed away? Edited February 2, 2022 by kaguyahime
JapanX Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Somebody converted beautiful mint-made medal into belt buckle. For details see https://asiamedals.info/threads/30-years-of-russo-japanese-war-sommemoration-medal-a-k-a-admiral-togo-commemorative-medal.23778/
kaguyahime Posted February 2, 2022 Author Posted February 2, 2022 Тhanks a lot, JapanX! Yes... Couldn't even imagine THAT! But for what purpose?! Later will compare the table medal and the buckle.
JapanX Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Conversion of orders, medals and badges into obidome, belt buckles and brooches is practically Japan's national sport See https://asiamedals.info/threads/brooches-japanese-orders-and-badges-converted-into-jewelry-belt-buckles-obidome-etc.12302/
kaguyahime Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 The result of comparison confirmed -JapanX was absolutely right! But have one more look, how accurate was the master of convertation.
