Duncan Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 I'm really intrigued by this 'Strolling Players' Medal I saw recently, mainly because I can find absolutely no information on it at all and only one website that has a picture of it, and even that says it's use is unknown. It's quite well made too. Does anyone recognise it or know why it was produced?
Great Dane Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 I don't know this medal, but I'm sure you have deduced it has something to do with theater? The two masks from ancient Greek drama (the two sides of the human psyche - sometimes referred to as comedy and tragedy). And "Strolling Players" probably referring to touring actors who would perform at small venues around the country. Maybe something made and awarded by an actors' guild?

Yes, I think that sounds right. I'm just intregued by the fact there's absolutely nothing about it on the Internet. It looks well made too.
