JJCB Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Here are two photographs of an early Soviet aviation badge designed by the artist and graphic designer Alexander Rodchenko. Questions: Is this a civilian aviation award or a military award? Does this badge date from the 1920s, or 1930s? Any assistance in clarifying these matters would be greatly appreciated. -John
JapanX Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Badge is a modern made fake. Regarding Dobrolyot https://asiamedals.info/threads/history-of-dobrolyot-russian-society-of-voluntary-air-fleet.24598/ Original badge https://asiamedals.info/threads/award-badge-of-the-dobrolet-society.24599/
JJCB Posted May 31, 2022 Author Posted May 31, 2022 Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this subject. It's disappointing to learn that the badge in my collection is not a genuine piece. -I've seen a couple of rather crude fakes of this item, but never one with this level of attention to detail, or quality of construction.
JapanX Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Yes, very unfortunate. Sorry about that. Analogous fake https://asiamedals.info/threads/award-badge-of-the-dobrolyot-society-pochjotnyj-zheton-dobroljota-a-k-a-nagradnoj-znak-dobroljota.24599/page-2#post-352070
