Seabornescout Posted June 11, 2022 Share Posted June 11, 2022 The Waldeck and Pyrmont Ehrenkreuz (1899-1918) pictured is for sale on an auction site. The reverse of the pictured cross has "Fur Verdienste" which differs from the depiction in the Nimmergut book. Nimmergut shows "Fur Verdienst" on this medal. Is this simply a variation in manufacturing or could it be a more recent copy? The "E" at the end looks misaligned. Any guidance or opinions will be welcomed. Without any doubt one of the sellers referred to in this thread. This modern fake is apparent from an overall lack of quality. Not sure, though, if such a spelling variation might exist...
