Couple In The Mail Today

Hey all, got a couple today to add to the collection.

 

First up is a One Wound, Wound Medal.  This one is not your typical War Metal medal, appears to be be zinc.  Very nicely struck with very fine details

 

The second is a nice sharp Bravery Medal in Silver,  2nd Class

Very nice. The wound medals were mostly made of zinc-alloy, but also bronze with a gray wash and aluminium.

Thanks for the kind words!  Your right, they were made in a zinc-alloy (war metal), zinc and bronze as you said.  The bronze were made by Winter and Adler.

 

The one I posted has no makers mark.  Shame.

Normally were made in Kriegsmetall

The zinc-alloy(Kriegsmetall) medals I believe are slightly thicker(3mm) than the bronze ones which were about 2.5mm thick.

 

Greg, how many stripes(if any) does yours have on its ribbon?

Yep, your absolutely correct on that.

 

It's a one wound ribbon
