Imperial Prussian 2nd Class Order of the Crown

A 2nd Class Prussian Order of the Crown with swords. Opinions welcomed:

Graham, any markings on this one? Are the swords screwed into the cross body? I have a Wagner example which looks like it was run over by a tank at some point.

No markings. I have tried to unscrew the swords, they are tightly fixed into place and I am loathe to put to much pressure on them, definitely not soldered on though. Yours looks a beauty and a PLM as well (is it a Godet?).

AFAIK most of these swords pieces were solid body and silver-gilt. Mine is marked 938 on the edge of the 6 o'clock arm and again on the suspension loop. I do believe that some early awards were 'upgraded' non-swords pieces with swords added later, so these would be hollow body and real gold. I wish the PLM was Godet, it's actually a single-sided example from Meybauer.
