52nd Oxfordshire Light Infantry Badge.

Hi Gents,

I’ve just picked this up, it isn’t my usual thing… I don’t even remember having a ‘Numbered’ regimental badge before.

 
I’m hoping someone can confirm it’s an original for me 🤞and that it is a ‘cap badge’?

 

 

 

I have to say there is something I really like about the look and feel of it, if this is original and is indicative of the style of the time… I may have a new habit to feed 🙃

Tony, Not one in my specific areas of colleting, but it looks good to me. The aging doe snot look artificial and the lugs seem to date with the bade. Although i can't see if they footed, which could be a factor. Take a look at this one and it looks as yours only I think yours is in better condition and lovelier patina.

Bottom line it looks OK to me.

Cheers for the link Terry, that was really helpful and theirs matches mine to a tee.

Since this one I’ve picked up a few more from the same place, all I could in fact, and several of those were on the same link.

 

Everything matches and cross references accurately with other sources.
